Cedar Hills Area Preservation Society: CHAPS
Welcome to CHAPS 32210. Our main goals are to build a stronger sense of community, improve our neighborhood and preserve and protect the mid-century modern residences in our neighborhood. Cedar Hills neighborhood was commenced in 1954 and Cedar Hills Estates followed soon after in 1956. Hercules, Inc. and many other local builders constructed well over 3,200 concrete block homes. Research is underway to obtain the names of the builders and original owners to create an archive of this information. As more information and stories are uncovered, they will be added to this site.

About CHAPS.32210
Cedar Hills Area Preservation Society (CHAPS) was formed in 2023 by Jenny Watson with the intent to revitalize the neighborhood, create opportunities for neighbors to meet each other and encourage a stronger sense of pride for living in Cedar Hills.
Neighborhood Engagement
CHAPS members attend the Jacksonville Sheriffs Watch meetings to learn about trends in crime around the Westside so we can better protect our lives and our properties.
CHAPS is also a voting member of the Southwest CPAC (Citizens Planning Advisory Committee) where requests for zoning variances and other proposed changes are discussed; CPAC recommendations roll up to City Council.
